Although many important coaching strategies and skills can be learned through clinics and other group presentations, some coaches/leaders prefer working individually with a sport psychology consultant. Through our Center, we are able to offer one-on-one meetings with a sport psychology consultant that are individualized to fit your needs as a leader. Whether you are seeking to maximize your strengths as a coach, are not being successful in helping your team reach its performance goals, or are dealing with personal issues that interfere with your satisfaction or success, these sport psychology meetings provide you with the opportunity to discuss your situation in more depth and receive individualized solutions.
Individual sport psychology consultations generally occur on a once per week basis, though the frequency of meetings will depend on your situation and needs. Meetings may be held in our Center, though you may decide with your sport psychology consultant to hold meetings in your office or training environment. Although the actual time of each consultation may vary, meetings generally last one hour.
*The cost of ongoing coach and leader consultations are determined based on several
factors, including:
- the sport psychology consultant with whom you work
- materials provided
- agreed upon length of sport psychology consultation
- # of hours each week spent with team/group
For sport psychology consultation meetings held outside of the Center's offices, travel expenses also will be assessed. To obtain general information on our services, please give us a call. For us to develop a specific performance plan for you, though, an intake meeting with one of our sport psychology consultants is required. These meetings generally last 60-90 minutes.
