UNT and the Center for Sport Psychology played organizer and host to the Second Annual Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) Regional Student Conference. The two-day conference featured keynote addresses from internationally-respected sport and exercise psychologists, including Dr. Arnold LeUnes from Texas A&M University and Dr. John Bartholomew from University of Texas at Austin. In addition, former Dallas Cowboy Russell Maryland spoke about his experiences in professional sports and the impact sports may have on character development. Rounding out the keynote presentations was a panel discussion on contemporary issues in applied sport psychology. The panelists included Dr. Whitney Moore (UNT), Dr. Erica Force (Scott & White Hospital), and Dr. Jordan Hamson (Athletic Trainer). Students also had opportunities to present their research to the conference attendees and receive feedback on their work.
