CENTER DOCTORAL STUDENT STEPHANIE BARRETT, PH.D., CMPC, SELECTED FOR 2022 APA DIVISION 47 DISSERTATION AWARD

The Society for Sport, Exercise, & Performance Psychology, APA Division 47, Cornerstone Committee has selected Stephanie Barrett as the recipient of the 2022 Society for Sport, Exercise, & Performance Psychology Dissertation Award. This award recognizes outstanding student research that has the greatest potential for making a significant contribution to the theoretical and applied knowledge base in sport, exercise, and performance psychology. Stephanie's dissertation, "Bodies in Motion for Life: A Long-Term Qualitative Evaluation of an ED Prevention Program with Retired Female Athletes," examined the experiences and perspectives of retired female athletes who participated in a body image intervention during their collegiate careers with respect to their current relationships with body image, eating and physical activity, and overall psychological well-being. This study has recently been accepted for publication in Body Image.
