CENTER DIRECTOR, FACULTY, AND STAFF PRESENT RESEARCH FINDINGS AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE ASSOCIATION FOR APPLIED SPORT PSYCHOLOGY

Dr. Trent A. Petrie, Dr. Scott Martin, and doctoral student Alexandra Thompson are presenting their research at the annual AASP sport psychology conference which is being held in New Orleans, LA from October 2-5.  Their research examines the psychological and physical fitness predictors of dietary intent among middle school girls, the psychosocial variables that are related to drive for muscularity in male collegiate athletes, and how general and sport-specific pressures about weight and appearance, as well as body dissatisfaction and negative affect, are associated with female collegiate athletes’ levels of bulimic symptomatology.
