CENTER DIRECTOR AND STAFF HAVE RESEARCH PROPOSALS ACCEPTED FOR AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Dr. Trent Petrie, Center Director, and Center staff Troy Moles, Joey Ramaeker, Bailey Tacket, Alexandra Thompson, Kayla Carrigan, Justine Chatterton, and Shelly Sheinbein have had numerous research papers accepted for the 2013 annual convention of the American Psychological Association, which will be held July 29 to August 3 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  Their research projects cover the following areas:  (a) psychosocial predictors of eating disorders amongst male athletes; (b) weight practices of female collegiate swimmers and divers; (c) the relationship of “being weighed” to female collegiate athletes disordered eating attitudes and behaviors; (d) moderators of the relationship between physical fitness and depression amongst middle school boys and girls; and (e) an evaluation of sport psychology professionals sexual and nonsexual boundary violation beliefs and behaviors with students.
