CENTER STAFF BEGIN ANNUAL FITNESSGRAM TESTING WITH DISD MIDDLE SCHOOLS

In November, the UNT Center for Sport Psychology staff will renew its annual collaboration with the DISD middle schools. The staff will be out at the middle schools during different weeklong periods between November 2010 and March 2011 to assist the PE teachers in administering the FITNESSGRAM fitness tests, such as the PACER, curl-ups, and back-saver sit and reach.  In our third year working with the district, our goal is to assist the teachers in completing the testing and to follow the children over time to determine how their fitness develops and the extent to which it influences their psychological well-being and academic performance.
